Features
Everything Kado does today, and nothing more. What's planned for later isn't listed here.
Lists
One list per occasion
A list has a name, an event date, and a reminder lead time. It's shared with your people by default (that's the whole point), and you can keep it private while you fill it in.
- Create, rename, archive a list.
- Event date and a reminder N days before.
- “Friends” visibility by default, private on request.
- A first list created for you at sign-up.
Gifts
Enough detail to get it right
A gift isn't just a title. A budget avoids awkwardness, a priority says what actually matters, and several links leave the choice of shop open.
- Title, description, photo, budget, priority, notes.
- Several links per gift, to compare shops.
- Draft status: invisible until you publish.
- Reorder freely within the list.
Reservations
Coordination without the spoiler
Your people divide the gifts among themselves. A claimed gift is locked for everyone else, and the recipient learns none of it.
- A gift can only be claimed by one person at a time.
- Mark as bought once the order is placed.
- “My reservations” screen: everything you've claimed, everywhere.
- Self-reservation: mark a gift you bought for yourself.
People
A link, not a friend request
No directory, no inbox to process. You generate a link, send it however suits you, and clicking it is the consent.
- Signed, short-lived invitation link.
- They sign up or sign in, and the connection is made.
- Removing someone cuts their access immediately.
- Everyone sees only the lists shared with them.
Reminders
Told beforehand, not afterwards
The only useful moment for a notification is while there's still time to order. You pick the channel, or none at all.
- Email and web push, enabled independently.
- Event reminder N days before the date.
- A ping when an invitation link is used.
- No channel turned on for you.
The app
Installable, on the phone
Kado is an installable web app: it goes on the home screen and behaves like a native one, without a store in the way.
- Installable on iOS and Android from the browser.
- French interface today; the English catalogue is ready.
- Mobile-first, because that's where lists actually get filled in.
- Web push on iOS via the home-screen app.
Try it on your next occasion
The next Christmas, the next birthday. Create the list now and fill it in as you go.
